The Book of Hebrews 11:21 – The Life and Faith of Jacob
Jacob was a schemer, a liar, and a fugitive, yet God chose him and placed him in the hall of faith found in Hebrews 11. His life is a powerful reminder that God does not choose people based on their virtue but based on His sovereign grace. Through decades of hardship, fear, and failure, God never abandoned Jacob. He wrestled with God at Jabbok, walked away with a limp and a new name, and died leaning on his staff in worship. His story shows that faith is not the absence of fear or failure. It is the refusal to let go of God in the middle of both. If God could transform a con man into the father of a nation, He can do the same for anyone who clings to Him.
